The music scene has been strewn with songs about love gone wrong and it is a subject every one of us has been through.

No one can forget the one who broke your heart and left you feeling like the hurt was so deep, so painful and so everlasting that the feeling would never fade.

Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” is one such song that captures the sense of betrayal and hurt that pierces to the bottom of the soul.

So what is rolling in the deep about? It tries to capture the sense of loss with the realization that the only thing that will bring healing is one mighty dose of retribution.

Revenge is not a pretty word. It conjures up images of an eye-for-an-eye and the thought that no matter how long ago it happened, the feeling of justification you will feel when the karma wheel comes around will be worth the wait. Adele is an amazing singer and songwriter from England who has a heartbreaking, soulful voice. Her first album, entitled 19, debuted in 2008. Since then she has been on tour constantly. Her second album, 21, hit stores in the UK in January 2011. She won a Grammy in 2009 for the Best New Artist, and she has had other achievements as well.

In fact, this year she is nominated for CMT’s Best Performance of the Year for her duet with Darius Rucker. Check your local TV station on June 8 to find out if she wins. That is not all the current exciting news about Adele, though.

Adele has had immense success with her latest single, “Rolling in the Deep.” It is the first of her singles to reach number one in numerous countries, including Italy, Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Canada. It debuted back in November of 2010 in England at the number two spot, becoming her third top ten single. It is her first song to reach the top of the Billboard charts in America.

Not only did it reach the number one spot on the Hot Adult Top 40 chart, but in May 2011, it also peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. That means that she is the first British singer since Leona Lewis to top both the Billboard Top 100 and Billboard Top 200 charts. In addition to simply reaching the top spot on those charts, she maintained those stats the following week.

Adele has reached phenomenal success lately. As of May 2011, “Rolling in the Deep” has sold over 2 million copies in the United States alone. This makes it her best-selling single yet.
